This P-51 Mustang Mk III, serial number SR437, based at B.60 Grimbergen airfield in Belgium flew an \"Arnhem Patrol\". At approximately 1300 hours a combat took place with Focke Wulf 190's east of the Emmerich area. Jagdgeschwader (JG) 26 claimed 3 Mustangs of 19 and 65 Squadrons. SR437 was one of them. According to German files this aircraft seems to have been shot down by Leutnant Vogt, Commanding Officer of 5./JG 26 (No.5 Staffel, Jagdgeschwader 26)at 13.25 hours.
