Bombardier William Scott Dove served in North Africa, Sicily and took part in the D-Day operations in Normandy. He was wounded in Italy. Attached to the 1st Airborne division he landed near Arnhem and was wounded in the chest and taken to a regimental aidpost, which was subsequently hit by a mortar bomb. He has no known grave. His name is on the Groesbeek Memorial: Panel 2. | |
