On this day ten Mustang Mk. III photo-reconaissance aircraft flew so-called Tactical Photo Recce's. Flight Lieutenant Bolton, piloting AM101, did not return from his sortie. He was mistakenly shot down by a USAAF P-47 Thunderbolt. F/lt. Bolton bailed out but his parachute did not open.
