Personal notes

The C-47 Dakota 43-15180 of USAAF 314 TCG, 50 TCS, was hit by German Flak and crashed beside the Bonegraafseweg at Ochten, about 20km soutwest of Oosterbeek. Ultimately there were no survivors. All victims were originally buried near the aircraft. The British paratroopers (of S-coy) could not be individually identified after the war and were reinterred in the Jonkerbos War Cemetery at Nijmegen. Pte. Stevens was the only one to survive the crash though he was badly wounded and died in the evening. The headstones on the Graves bear the inscription \\' Buried near this spot \\'.
