On Monday the 25th at 1.0 a.m. this unit tried to cross the river with some 300 men, ammunition and medical supplies for 1st AB Div. Most of the men were captured and the supplies in the few Duck's that were available did not make it to the other side of the river. Cpl. Schofield was one of the men, he died of his wounds in a hospital at Apeldoorn.
