Corporal Jamers Arthur Jones joined the army on 16th December 1935 aged just 16. He was with the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment. He was in France during 1939, Dunkirk in 1940 and North Africa in 1943. He then joined the Parachute Regiment and was promoted to the rank of Corporal. On the 17th September he was dropped and was shot by a sniper 2 hours after landing. He was married and a father of two twin daughters. | |
