At 1335 hours, 14 Spitfire Squadrons of No.83 Group took off to patrol and sweep the Nijmegen-arnhem area. No.441 Squadron reported destroying one enemy aircraft and damaging seven enemy aircraft in the Nijmegen area. Two pilots of No.441 Squadron were reported missing. Spitfire ML360, piloted by Flight Lieutenant Boe, was shot down by a German fighter of Jagdgeschwader (JG) 26 near Nijmegen.
