Together with Staff Sergeant \\'Teddy\\' Edwards, Sergeant Ferguson flew in Horsa glider \\'Chalk Number 5002\\', carrying six troops of No.6080 Light Warning Unit (RAF Radar). The glider landed correctly on LZ \\'X\\' but came under machine gun fire and Sgt Ferguson was wounded and became a POW. Was in Stalag XIB, then in 1CB. He died on 31-3-1945 during the march for evacuation of POW camps, being ill of dysentery and malnutrition.
