Sgt. Geoffrey Lawson, second Pilot of Glider chalk No. 342, flew in from Manston Airfield on 17 September. The glider was carrying a 6 pounder anti-tank gun and it\\'s crew of B troop Air Landing Anti-Tank Royal Artillery. He remained with the gun crew who followed 2nd Para to the bridge. Though Sgt. Lawson was listed as beeing killed on 18 September, one of the gunner crew stated that he was with him until the 20th. The additional photo shows Sgt. Lawson laying wounded on a stretcher. The photo was taken on 21 September. He died of his wounds and was buried at Moscowa Cemetery at Arnhem. He was reintered at Oosterbeek War Cemetery. | |
