Gunner Maurice Keeling was last seen during the night of the withdrawal on 25-26 September, whilest rescuing his CO who was hit in the water and was drowning. On the 6th of October the body of Gunner Keeling was recovered from the river Rhine at Rhenen. He was drowned. In 2003 his brother and sister visited his grave and handed over a memorial plaque to the caretakers of his grave as thank for the care over his grave for all these years. The plaque is now displayed in the Municipal Building of Rhenen.
