15.33 hours (NL-time). Stirling EF319 (5G-'N'), piloted by Wing Commander Peter Davis (commanding officer 299 Squadron)was hit by Flak while re-supplying the airborne troops near Arnhem and went down near reastaurant Rust Wat, Kempenbergerweg, Arnhem. Wing Commander Davis tried to belly-land the aircraft and some of his crew were able to bail out before the aircraft crashed. 5 crew members survived but 4 were killed. Flight Lieutenant Mason died in the crash.
